Founded by two dedicated attorneys with thousands of courtroom hours and prior clients, our firm was created with the goal of helping people move forward with their lives. Adam Garber
Adam began his career while still in law school, clerking as a certified student attorney for the Anoka County Public Defender's Office. This experience was invaluable, providing on-the-job training in a wide variety of criminal defense cases, and courtroom hours. Graduating Cum Laude from William Mitchell College of Law, Adam started his own firm taking along the lessons that he learned from the Public Defender's Office: providing zealous representation to every one of his clients. In 2019, he joined his former co-worker Matt Bakke forming Garber & Bakke, LLC, where together they continue to embody the vision of putting people first.
Matt Bakke
As a graduate of Hamline University School of Law, with an undergraduate degree in Mass Communications from the University of Utah, Matt began his legal career with the Public Defender's Office. Starting as a certified student attorney alongside Adam Garber, and later a Assistant Public Defender, Matt worked hard to further his passion of helping people. Through the founding of Garber & Bakke, LLC, he has been able reach more people in need. Matt also donates his time to helping the next generation in the practice of law through working with students at law schools across the country. Matt has retired from Garber & Bakke as of November, 2022.
